JET HARDING.
Portrait of Jet HardingJacksonville, FL · Senior Software Developer

I turn messy business questions into systems people trust.

Analytics engineer and technical project lead. For a decade I've worked where finance, operations and data meet: SQL Server, Power BI and semantic models at enterprise scale by day, and Golf With Jet, a live-scoring product I independently developed and launched.

A · Enterprise Analytics & Engineering

Business context. Technical ownership.

Enterprise work is summarized at a public level: no internal screenshots, datasets, customer or employee details, proprietary metrics or company-specific architecture.

Case study 01

Enterprise retail analytics modernization

Delivered · 2026
01 · Challenge

Consistent answers, fast

Different source systems, detailed reporting needs and competing metric definitions made it hard to give field and business teams timely, consistent answers without sacrificing responsiveness.

02 · My role

Technical lead + primary BI developer

  • Translated business questions into reporting requirements
  • Coordinated engineering dependencies
  • Ran stakeholder discussions on priorities, status and trade-offs
03 · Approach

Rebuild the foundation

  • Reworked SQL transformations and reporting logic with data engineering colleagues
  • Built the Power BI semantic model
  • Tested accuracy and usability throughout
04 · Outcome

Shipped and iterating

Delivered to users in 2026. Simplified the data-processing approach, materially reduced the model footprint, improved responsiveness, and supported validation, acceptance testing and post-launch refinement.

Conceptual flow, not internal architecture. A generalized description of professional experience, not a reproduction of an employer's dashboard. Release to users does not imply all post-launch improvements are complete.

Case study 02 · Methodology

Operating-plan allocation

Challenge. Regional and territory reporting doesn't always give the detail needed to understand a plan at the customer level.

My contribution. Designed and validated an allocation methodology connecting SKU-level plans with customer-level analysis, reconciled allocated results back to source plan values, and identified gaps in prior allocation logic.

Validation. Allocated totals reconcile to source plans, assumptions stay visible, exceptions get reviewed.

Golf With Jet. Live scores, zero fuss.

A mobile-first web app for running golf tournaments: players enter scores on their phones and everyone watches a live leaderboard. I own it end to end: product direction, scoring rules, data model, security, testing and releases, building with AI-assisted development and reviewing every change.

Tournament creation & management Built

Name it, pick a saved course, round length, team size, format, tees and handicap rules, then share a short join code. Admins manage rosters, teams, tee times, co-admins and a printable scorecard. Only approved accounts can create tournaments, and the database enforces it.

02

Scoring formats Built

Six formats: stroke play, scramble, Texas scramble, best ball, net best ball and Stableford. Optional handicaps with 2, 3 and 4-player team formulas, skins with carryovers, and a Drink Handicap side game for the fun rounds.

Create tournament form on mobile listing the six scoring formats and team size options
03

Live leaderboards Built

Everyone enters their own scores on their phone and the board updates in real time. Format-aware totals, projected finish, live versus final boards, and a submit, review and verify flow before results are final.

04

Interactive course maps Built

MapLibre maps on satellite or street basemaps with tees, greens, bunkers and water, plus live front, center and back yardages from your location, shot tracking and a recenter control. Course geometry comes from cited sources such as OpenStreetMap.

Authentication & roles Validating

Passwordless magic link and Google sign-in. Owner, co-admin and player roles plus app admin roles, all enforced with Postgres row-level security and server-side functions. Signed-in role testing is part of Phase 9.

06

Offline & installable Partial

Installable as a home-screen app. Scores entered without signal are queued on the device and sync when the connection returns, with a visible sync status. Full offline loading and conflict resolution are on the roadmap.

Platform rebuild progress

Moving the product to infrastructure I own end to end. Phases 1 to 8 are merged; Phase 9 is signed-in testing before cutover.

What it shows about how I work

Rules into software. Translating golf scoring rules, handicaps and team formats into tested logic.

Security first. Found and closed authorization gaps, then verified them against the live database before moving on.

Real-world feedback. Field-tested in live rounds; bugs found on the course became phases with regression tests.

Coordinating contributors. Directing AI-assisted development with written phase plans, reviews and approval gates.

Readable in direct sunlight.

Score marks follow golf conventions, and the on-course surface targets high contrast for glare. Captured from the app's own design reference page.

Screenshots are real captures from the staging build, using a demo account, a demo tournament and fictional player names. Nothing is mocked or generated.

How I work

Own the question. Understand the answer.

Technical project leadership starts with clear requirements, honest trade-offs and shared understanding across business and technical teams.

01

Stakeholders in the loop

I established and lead recurring stakeholder meetings for requirements, priorities, status and technical challenges, and present updates to directors and executive leadership.

02

Data you can trust

SQL transformations, stored procedures, semantic and dimensional models, reconciled back to source values so financial and operational reporting holds up.

03

AI-assisted, human judgment

I use AI to move faster on code and unfamiliar territory. I bring the business context, review the output and validate the behavior.
